Become A Young Audiences Artist
Thank you for your interest in Young Audiences, Woodruff Arts Center. We seek out professional artists in the community who embody and can impart a spirit of creativity and discovery through their programs. Our artists are dedicated professionals who combine a passion for their art form with the desire and ability to educate and communicate effectively with young people. They recognize that our work demands not just talent, but a special set of knowledge and skills that enables them to share their art with students in meaningful ways.
Young Audiences is accepting applications, on a rolling basis, from individual artists and ensembles who wish to present assembly performance programs for Pre-K to 12th grade students. Please follow the steps below to access all application information and materials. You will need Adobe Reader to access the documents, which you can download HERE.

THE PROCESS
STEP 1: Complete the application as directed below. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when the application is received by a representative from Young Audiences.
STEP 2: Young Audiences staff will review the applications on a quarterly basis. Review Dates March 31 June 30 September 30 December 18
STEP 3: Artists who are selected to move forward with the application process will be notified within a week of the review date. Selected artists will receive a letter that will detail the next steps in the process.
Artists who are not selected to move forward will also be notified within a week of the review date.

STEP 1: REVIEW THE COVER LETTER Here you will gain a better understanding of Young Audiences, Woodruff Arts Center and learn about our program priorities for the coming year. STEP 2: REVIEW ASSEMBLY FORMATS AND PROGRAM QUALITY OVERVIEW Once you've been introduced to the organization through the cover letter, this document will give you a more in-depth understanding of our assembly program format and our standards of quality for these programs. STEP 3: REVIEW PROCESS FOR CREATING A PROGRAM WITH YOUNG AUDIENCES Please take a moment to review our methodology for successful program design. This will give you an understanding of our process and the commitment required by the artist in partnership with Young Audiences to create high quality/high impact programs. Successful new artist applicants will be required to attend our Performing for Understanding seminar before presenting a complete program proposal for consideration by Young Audiences staff and Program Committee members. STEP 4: REVIEW THE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND SUBMIT Please be sure to read through all the instructions before beginning the application. Once you're ready to apply, complete the New Artist Application Form and submit the required supplemental materials. You will receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application.
