Animalympics  |  Peter Hart

The thrill of victory! The agony of defeat! Do your best and win for yourself! Peter imagines how the Olympics might turn out if animals were the competitors. Kittens, squirrels, and orangutans give their all as they vie for coveted gold medals in yarn-ball scrimmage, the banana-toss finals, and the nut-burying championship. Students get into the action too. Animalympics is a light-hearted lesson in teamwork and sportsmanship, an enhancement to character education and science (animals, biology) studies, and a delightful introduction to the multi-faceted art of puppetry. A post-show question and answer segment and online study guide can be provided on request.

Peter Hart

Peter Hart, a professional puppeteer for over thirty years, has divided his career almost equally between Head Puppeteer/Associate Artistic Director at Atlanta's prestigious Center for Puppetry Arts and his own puppet company, Atlanta Puppet.

While at the Center for Puppetry Arts, Peter was Head Puppeteer in five productions that earned Citations of Excellence from UNIMA, the international society of puppeteers.  He develops original titles that address themes, with a focus on presenting puppetry as movement, action, and innovation. Peter designs his programs for flexibility and variety, and his shows have the well-earned reputation of mesmerizing audiences.

Peter is a sought-after performer at festivals, fairs, schools, and libraries, and he provides study guides/reading lists that can be accessed online if desired.
