Out of Africa: Journey to the Americas  |  Ritmo Blu World Percussion Trio

Available January 23rd - June 1st ONLY

Put on some sturdy shoes, grab your canteen and get ready for a musical journey across the water from the continent of Africa to South America, from the Caribbean Islands to the shores of North America. Ritmo Blu guides students along the slave trade routes of the 1880’s, stopping to point out the impact Africans had on the music, instruments, rhythms and dances of Brazil, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the United States. When this unforgettable, interactive excursion ends, students will come away with a greater understanding and appreciation of Africa’s history, culture and legacy.

Ritmo Blu World Percussion Trio

Ritmo Blu is a world percussion trio that creates high-energy performances designed to teach history, culture, and geography. The members are among the most sought after percussionists on the Atlanta music scene.

Together, they combine their passion for rhythm and world travel with years of experience to offer performances that are educational, interactive, and fun!

In 2012, Ritmo Blu celebrates ten years of bringing educational performances to thousands each year. Their DVD, Back Stage Pass, is a behind the scenes look at the dedication, imagination, and collaboration that continue to inspire young audiences through the wonderful world of rhythm!
