School Community Murals  |  Pamela Beagle-Daresta

The unique history of your school community and a chosen curriculum topic are the inspiration for a collaborative mural project. The process begins with research, using the same methodology required for writing an effective paper in any subject. Students translate their ndings into concept drawings which are then compiled into a nal mural design. Students paint the mural on panels prepared by the artist, learning the ratio gridding process. The panels are installed after completion in a school site chosen by the school administration staff. The standard size is 7’ x12‘. The residency’s culminating event—the unveiling of the mural—becomes a celebration of the school community and honors its creators.
